Description

Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Mark Wahlberg star in Martin Scorsese's new crime drama "The Departed." "The Departed" is set in South Boston where the state police force is waging an all-out war to take down the city's top organized crime ring. The key is to end the reign of powerful mob boss Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson) from the inside. A young rookie, Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) is assigned to infiltrate Costello's mob. While Billy is working to gain Costello's trust, another young cop, Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) is among a handful of elite officers whose mission is to bring Costello down. But what his superiors don't know is that Colin is working for Costello, keeping the crime-boss one step ahead of the police. Each man becomes deeply consumed by his double life, gathering information about the plans and counter-plans of the operation he has penetrated. But when it becomes clear to both the gangsters and the police that they have a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin find themselves in constant danger of being caught and each must race to uncover the identity of the other man in time to save himself.

The Departed is really violent and disturbing see it with a friend or a high person because this crime movie is imaginary and has great music, great actors like Leonardo Dicaprio, Jack Nicolson, Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg your up for a nasty ride.

Please update this special-effects heavy movie with 4K HDR support โ€” the image quality looks exceptionally poor on my 4K HDR TV.

Typical of so many Scorsese movies, you become attached to the protagonist and then, pessimist and cynic that he is, the director betrays you and spits in your drink. It's utterly perverse. If this film had a better ending, it would be brilliant. As is, you'll never feel the need to watch this film again. If you like a satisfying ending, don't watch Scorsese films.

This is a jumbled up mess. Please let go of the fake accents everyone. You can't pull it off. This movie and it's pathetic accents made me uneasy the whole time. As for the storyline - what a pile of twisted metal. Rough.

was absoltely pointless in all aspects--there was so much violence and swearing that didn't benefit the story at all. it was boring too-sure, the first time a guy gets shot, its somewhat interesting, but the 20th time around, its just repetative and dull

Leo acted circles around everyone else including Nicholson who is always too over the top. Great and understandable plot. Great everything.

This movie is one of the best crime/action films I've ever seen. The cast is phenomenal. DiCaprio, Damon, Baldwin, Nicholson, Sheen and Wahlberg in one movie. No one but Scorsese could think of something like that. This film is totally worth watching from beginning to end!!!!
